North Korea shows new ultra-light recreational aircraft

Unclear if the new aircraft are domestically manufactured

North Korea has dozens of ultra-light aircraft housed near a new small airstrip in eastern Pyongyang, according to a recent report from North Korea’s foreign news service Uriminzokkiri. 

The new light planes are for leisure purposes and are reportedly domestically made.

“We will take a look at the fun aspects of flightseeing, with the customers who visited Mirim Flight Club, ” a newsreader says in the video.

The footage and satellite imagery indicate the club is next to a small 500-meter airstrip. The video shows two hangars for the light aircraft and even an upscale restaurant where visitors can
