North Korea has completed work on a large hydropower plant on the country’s eastern side, according to numerous DPRK media outlets on Friday.

The Kumyagang Army-People Power Station is another long-gestating hydropower facility which appears to have been completed this year.

“The inauguration of the power station brought about progress in power supply, one of the preconditions for carrying out the five-year strategy for national economy development, and made it possible to increase agricultural production by preventing flood (sic),” an article from the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reads.
