North Korean state-run media on Monday reported the successful completion of the second month of an ongoing ‘200-day battle’ – the DPRK’s second national productivity drive of the year – though yet again provided no evidence for its claims.

Several reports, published across the entirety of the third page of the Rodong Sinmun, emphasized the nation’s overall increase in the production of coal, steel, chemicals, construction materials, electricity and daily necessities.

The 200-day battle campaign, part of a five-year North Korean economic growth strategy first presented during the Seventh Congress event held in May, follows the completion of a high intensity nationwide “70 day battle” which ended the same month.
