The THAAD missiles the U.S. insists on deploying to South Korea are likely to boomerang with an explosive impact that no one in any position of responsibility seems to anticipate.

Pentagon experts may talk up the virtues of escalating the North-South Korean confrontation to the level of Star Wars with THAAD missiles that supposedly can knock out incoming missiles 93 miles above earth.
