The UN Security Council held emergency meeting on Wednesday to discuss North Korea’s most recent launch of Hwasong-10, the intermediate-range ballistic missiles (IRBMs) formerly called Musudan.

The meeting was partially aimed at issuing a yet to be released joint press statement from the members of the council.

“Members of the UN Security Council have expressed strong concerns and opposition to North Korea’s recent missile launch,” Francois Delattre, the French ambassador to the UN, said after the meeting was held, Chosun Ilbo reported.

The French ambassador added that the joint statement, condemning recent North Korean launch, is to come in near
