North Korea landed in the lowest bracket in a recent study on small arms trade transparency conducted by the UN-backed Small Arms Survey.

The DPRK joined Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, all of which scored a zero on a scale ranging up to 25.

The report entitled “Trade Update 2016: Transfers and Transparency” assessed countries using data published in the UN Comtrade database, and looked at export authorizations and the licenses granted for arms trades.
