North Korea acknowledges deaths during 70-day campaign

Posthumous titles awarded to citizens killed and injured in lead-up to May's Seventh Party Congress

North Korean state media has acknowledged the deaths of citizens attempting to complete projects and quotas during an imposed 70-day campaign in the lead up to the Seventh Party Congress in May.

Both the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) and the Rodong Sinmun published articles on Wednesday referencing the sacrifice of construction workers and a fishing crew, which sustained injuries and fatalities during the campaign.
