Russia urged interested countries to embark on dialogue to create a diplomatic solution over North Korean issues, the spokesperson from Moscow’s foreign ministry said Thursday.

During his speech at the Seventh Party Congress on Sunday, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un suggested inter-Korean dialogue focusing on military issues, while at the same time stating that North Korea is a nuclear state.

“Our main actions are geared toward attempts at bringing the parties concerned back to discussions and to a political and diplomatic solution of the outstanding problems in the peninsula,” spokesperson Maria Zakharova told journalists in remarks carried by TASS.
