North Korea is using hybrid solar and wind technology to generate power for public lighting, photos taken by Aram Pan at DPRK 360 show.

The new technology street lamps have been installed on Mirae Scientist Street, one of Pyongyang’s recently completed large-scale construction projects.

“(There is) a whole row of them. And there’s plenty of solar street lamps all over Pyongyang too,” Pan, who frequently visits the DPRK said, adding that many of the new street lights have also switched over to using low power LED technology.
