Chinese state-run media on Monday told the U.S. not to “outsource,” or depend on China for its North Korean nuclear policies.

Referring to Pyongyang’s recent SLBM launch conducted on Saturday, U.S. President Obama said “we’ve seen the Chinese be more alarmed and take more seriously what North Korea is doing.”

But if the editorial is any indication, Beijing’s view is still far removed from Washington’s.

“(President) Obama urged China to increase pressure on North Korea, and it is the U.S. and South Korea’s will to see China and North Korea become hostile against each other,” read Huanqiu Shibao’s
