N.Korea lambasts S.Korean observatory relocation plan

Experts say Pyongyang blusters in warning new observatory site falls within their ‘striking range’

North Korea has announced strong opposition to South Korea’s plan to relocate the Dorasan Observatory, with its state-run bulletin Uriminzokkiri writing that the new location for the observatory will be within North Korean military’s striking range.

However, the northernmost South Korean observatory of Dorasan is already located just 1,800 meters from the inter-Korean border, allowing visitors to catch glimpses of Kaesong City, Kim Il Sung’s statue there, and Kijong-dong, the famous North Korean propaganda village.
