UNSC condemns North Korea’s launch, but no draft resolution yet

Chinese, U.S. presidents have agreed on need for Security Council resolution: U.S. ambassador

NEW YORK – The UN Security Council on Sunday condemned North Korea’s launch using ballistic missile technology and said it will promptly adopt a new council resolution.

“Whether you call it a satellite launch, this is the clear preparation for the long-range missile itself and it is a clear violation of the past Security Council resolutions,” Japanese Ambassador Motohide Yoshikawa told reporters after the meeting.
