The South Korean government warned North Korea of a “severe cost” following its notification that it would soon launch a satellite, the security secretary of the Blue House stated on Wednesday morning. Defining North Korea’s satellite launch as a “long-range missile,” Seoul convened its National Security Council (NSC) at 8AM Wednesday following North Korea’s announcement to two UN agencies that it would launch a satellite sometime between February 8 to 25. “North Korea should clearly be aware that any kind of launch which uses ballistic missile technology is a violation of the UN Security Council’s resolution, and should withdraw the plan,” NSC secretary general Cho Tae-yong © Korea Risk Group.
