North Korea to deport South Koreans from the KIC

Channel between South and North will be closed

North Korea declared that it will deport South Korean citizens from the Kaesong Industrial Complex (KIC) by 5:30 p.m. Thursday, which is 5 p.m. for Pyongyang time, the Yonhap News Agency reported.

All the assets in the complex will be frozen, and North Korea has declared the region a “military control area.” The military channel between two Koreas and the Panmunjeom channel will also be closed, according to Yonhap’s report.
