MoU: Broadcasts justified after August agreement’s ‘violation’

Experts say Seoul resuming propaganda following nuke tests due to lack of unilateral options

North Korea has violated the August 25 agreement, the South Korean Ministry of Unification (MoU) said on Friday morning at the regular press briefing, following Seoul's decision to resume propaganda broadcasts at the inter-Korean border.

The MoU defined the nuclear test as an “abnormal situation,” citing the third article of the agreement: "The Southern side will stop all loudspeaker broadcasting at the bordering area, unless an abnormal situation occurs."
