S.Korean SMEs skeptical of investment in N.Korea

Companies see prospects but deterred by potential for political, military tensions

Most South Korean small-to-medium-sized enterprises are not sold on future investment in North Korea's economic development zones, according to a survey released last week by the Korea Federation of Small and Medium-Sized Business.

9.3 percent of the SMEs in South Korea indicated an interest in North Korea's economic development zones, while 15.9 percent feel that making inroads into the zones is going to be necessary.
