South Korea’s ruling Saenuri Party and the main opposition New Politics Alliance for Democracy (NPAD) have agreed to pass the North Korean Human Rights Act in the upcoming regular session of National Assembly.

Details on when the act would be enacted and in what form have not been decided yet.

“Leaders from both the Saenuri Party and NPAD have reached an agreement to pass the North Korean Human Rights Act in this regular session of National Assembly,” said Saenuri’s Won Yoo-chul.
