A recent report by Seoul-based experts said the annual income of North Koreans working in Russia’s Far Eastern Primorsky Krai region is typically between $200-$3,000. The Korea Institute for National Unification (KINU) released a report earlier this week on the human rights of North Korean workers in Primorsky Krai. The report was authored by Lee Aerina, a professor of Korean studies at Waseda University, and Lee Chang-ho at the Institute of Globalization and Multicultural Studies at Hanyang University this week. While North Korea suffered from severe food shortages in the 1990s, their economic fundamentals sharply deteriorated. The only way to © Korea Risk Group. All rights reserved. |
