NIS: N.Korea hacked National Assembly computers

Personal computers connected to Assembly members compromised, hacking attempts elsewhere failed

Seoul’s National Intelligence Service (NIS) earlier this week said North Korea recently tried hacking computers in South Korean government organizations including the National Assembly, Ministry of Unification and the Blue House.

Thus, documents from the annual parliamentary inspection were partially leaked to North Korea.

In a closed-door session on Tuesday, Lee Chul-woo of the ruling Saenuri Party reported that personal computers in the National Assembly were hacked, whereas the North did not succeed in hacking other organizations.
