Defectors from North Korea organized a press conference in support of a government-designated history textbook in front of the headquarters of the main opposition party on Tuesday morning.

The alliance of five defectors’ organizations, calling itself the “Alliance of defectors’ organizations to protect the liberal democracy system,” argued that the current history textbooks are biased, and follow North Korea’s depiction of history.

The speakers criticized the main opposition New Politics Alliance for Democracy (NPAD) for leading the opposition to the government-designated textbook.
