S.Korean president doubles down on 'trust-building,' cultural exchanges, while NPAD leader proposes large-scale economic plan

The South Korean president and the head of the main opposition used the Liberation Day weekend to discuss their visions for unification and its prospects.

While President Park Geun-hye highlighted the trust-building process with the North, emphasizing the ceasing of nuclear weapons development and relieving military tension, New Politics Alliance for Democracy (NPAD) leader Moon Jae-in proposed a new initiative for prosperity, establishing an economic zone bridging Eurasia and the Pacific Ocean.
