News N.Korea calls for tightening bureaucracy, rooting out indolenceAfter continuous purges, officials are passive to start new initiatives, regime is strengthening their tension
North Korea’s state-run Rodong Sinmun newspaper on Friday underscored the need for “Pyongyang spirit” and “Pyongyang speed” to overcome bureaucratic inefficiency in the Pyongyang City Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea. The article on the third page of Rodong Sinmun suggested that “political work” should be scientific, active and creative. “It means to behave with discipline and obvious responsibility,” said Kim Yong-hyun, professor of the Dongguk University Department of North Korean studies. “Some workers are only concentrating on their official tasks, and even without an obvious purpose they can easily hold on to their positions,” the article pointed out. © Korea Risk Group.
