North Korea is continuing efforts to attract foreign investors to Wonsan, the city located in the east coast of the country near Mount Kumgang, recent state media reports and claims by a consultant working with the city suggest.

As a result, the Wonsan Zone Development Corporation will be participating in the 11th annual Pyongyang Autumn International Trade Fair from September 21-24 in corporation with Paektu Cultural Exchange (PCE).

Through the process, the recently announced special economic zone hopes to attract foreign investment, targeted principally towards a major new brewery, department store, and gas station.
