Despite high tensions between the two Koreas, cultural exchange projects and activities at the Kaesong Industrial Complex are operating as usual. An ongoing joint excavation project at Kaesong Manwoldae – the site of the Koryo dynasty palace – is continuing without a hitch. The project, in which historians from South and North investigate the site together, started in June and will continue for six months, a particularly long period for a collaborative initiative. “The excavation is being implemented as planned, and we are waiting for the result of the talks.
