Red Cross, UNICEF announce N.Korean drought aid

Diseases from poor access to clean drinking water on the rise - N. Korean Ministry of Health

The Red Cross and UNICEF yesterday both announced measures to respond to North Korea’s ongoing drought, amidst concerns of sharp increases in diseases stemming from limited access to drinking water.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) said it would help North Korea on issues of disaster risk reduction, healthcare, water and sanitation and organizational development.
