N.Korea levies sexist insults at South Korean newscaster

While verbal attacks on political figures are common, insults towards media members are much rarer

North Korea’s foreign news service Uriminzokkiri targeted South Korean Yonhap News Agency newscaster Kim Jung with a string of harsh, sexist invective and insults late on Thursday.

This is not the first time North Korea has targeted South Korean women using degrading, gender-specific language in its national media. In May 2014 North Korean state media called South Korean President Park Geun-hye an “old prostitute,” while also labeling U.S. President Obama a "wicked black monkey."
