Ethnic Koreans rally for equal education in Japan

Exclusion of Choson schools from waiver applied to all other high schoolers discriminatory, unconstitutional: Protestors

The General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) demonstrated in Tokyo on Friday, calling for tuition-free programs for Korean schools, the Korean Central News Agency reported Saturday.

Chongryon staff and students, along with teachers from Korean schools and Japanese civic activists participated in the demonstration, criticizing the Japanese government for a “discriminatory” policy excluding high school students from Korean students from tuition exemptions.
