North Korea’s Ambassador to the UK reiterated his government’s position that North and South Korea should be reunified under a federal system on Tuesday.

The remarks were made at the Global Strategy Forum event titled Perspectives On The Current Situation on the Korean Peninsula in London, which also featured brief speeches from Aidan Foster-Carter of the University of Leeds and former BBC correspondent Charles Scanlon.

“North and South Korea have gone along different paths of development, maintaining different ideals and political systems for a long time since the division of the country,” Hyon Hak Byon said.

“Therefore neither of them wants to
