Kim Jong Un’s cancellation of plans to visit Moscow will not affect the protocol on economic cooperation signed earlier this week, Russia’s minister for the development of the Russian Far East told reporters in Moscow on Thursday.

The North Korean leader’s decision to stay in Pyongyang and focus on domestic issues came the same week as numerous cooperation projects between Russia and the DPRK were moved forward.

“In my view, this in no way calls it into question (the cooperation). In my view, there’s absolutely no connection between these things,” Galushka said in comments carried by Interfax news agency.
