Commonality and difference: Image of two Koreas’ architecture

Despite different ideology for 70 years Southern, Northern architecture shows similarities originating from same tradition

Architecture reflects the reality of society. And the reality on the Korean Peninsula is that the two societies separated by the DMZ show both commonality and contrast, marked by both their shared history and by 60 years of ideological difference.

An exhibition entitled “Korean Peninsula,” which finished in Seoul on Sunday was the first architecture exhibition on the architecture found on both sides of the Korean Peninsula.
