The Chosun Ilbo, the largest and most influential newspaper in South Korea, has been very enthusiastic regarding unification and defectors’ issues in recent times.

The conservative paper has been featuring a series of articles about unification, entitled “Unification is the Future,” since January 1, 2014.

“It has been an evident trend that youth are not interested in unification, which we think is very worrying. We started this project in January 2014, after three months of preparation,” Chosun Ilbo reporter and project leader Bae Sung-gyu told NK News.
