Belarus bans North Korean animal products

Former Soviet republic blocks imports in response to foot-and-mouth disease concerns

Concerns over foot-and-mouth disease have prompted Belarusian authorities to ban imports of livestock, meat and dairy from North Korea, a local media report stated.

It was not immediately clear, however, how much livestock from North Korea enters Belarus or whether any is sent there at all.

Several attempts by NK News to contact Belarus’ Agriculture and Food Ministry, as well as the Department of Veterinary and Food Control, were unsuccessful.
