North Korea said on Monday that it is making progress on ongoing projects to modernize the country’s railway infrastructure.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), paraphrasing an official from the Ministry of Railways, listed several alleged advances made in 2014 as well as planned developments for 2015.

“It is scheduled to lay the rails in more than 70 kilometers of section under the Pyongyang, Hamhung and Kaechon Railway bureaus this year,” the article read.

The article indicated that forms of new railway had been laid on existing networks between Yomju and Naejung station as well as several others last year.
