North Korean state media outlet Naenara published an advertorial on Tuesday promoting the 150,000-seat May Day Stadium in Pyongyang, whose refurbishments were completed in late 2014.

The article lists numerous features resulting from significant government investment to improve facilities at the stadium, and sporting endeavors more broadly.

“In October last year the May Day Stadium was wonderfully renovated to go well with the spectacular scenery of the picturesque Rungna Islet in Pyongyang,” the article read.

“Recently the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea set the target of developing the country into a sports power and has made unsparing investment.”
