Generator construction for new N. Korean hydro plants begins

New plants are relatively large and scheduled for completion by end of this year

The generators for hydroelectric plants along North Korea’s Chongchon River are under construction in the latest stage of the electricity project scheduled for completion by end-2015, according to the Pyongyang Times.

The new hydroelectric plants are a series of 10 power-generating facilities along the Chongchon River, which runs from the DPRK’s western coast.
