Kim Jong Un declares intent to reform KPA at Central Military Commission

Young leader announces KPA reorganization, demonstrating growing confidence in economy, position

Kim Jong Un has ordered the simplification of the Korean People’s Army’s “machinery,” indicating that he wishes to re-organize the military to implement its strategies “anytime,” North Korea’s Rodong Sinmun newspaper reported Monday.

At a special meeting of the Central Military Commission of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Kim Jong Un emphasized the revolutionary cause of Songun – the military-first policy implemented by his father Kim Jong Il – under the guidance of the party, and highlighted the importance of preparations against the enemy, particularly the U.S.
