South Korea is planning to have talks with the North over the wages for employees at the Kaesong Industrial Complex, two and a half weeks after the North unilaterally moved to raise them.

The Ministry of Unification said Friday that it is planning on the talks, but said the timing had not yet been decided.

Near the beginning of December the North announced that the 5 percent cap on annual wage increases would be lifted without consulting the South. Their wages have, since 2007, increased by 5 percent per year, currently amounting to a little more than $70.30 per month.
