On the day their countries agreed on an effective free trade agreement, the presidents of South Korea and China also vowed to take steps to rein in the North’s nuclear program.

South Korean President Park Geun-hye and Chinese President Xi Jinping met for a summit on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Forum (APEC) on Monday in Beijing.

The Yonhap News Agency quoted Ju Chul-ki, senior presidential foreign affairs secretary as saying that the two leaders agreed to have consultations on how to dissuade the North from furthering its nuclear program.

On the same day, negotiators from the two countries
