North Korea condemns British television drama

National Defence Commission calls producers "hooligans and rogues under the guise of artistes"

The upcoming Channel 4 drama "Opposite Number" is part of a concerted Western effort to slander North Korea and its attempts to acquire nuclear weapons, according to an article on state news agency KCNA Sunday.

Quoting a spokesman for the country's Policy Department of the National Defence Commission, the editorial describes the upcoming ten-part drama series as "a conspiratorial charade", which is "malignantly slandering the DPRK".
