North Korean officials have sent the South Korean government a written notice proposing working-level talks on details of this September’s Asia Games, KCNA reported on Thursday.

The statement, written under the name of the Chairman of Chosun Olympic Committee in North Korea, was sent to the 17th Asian Games Organizing Committee.

According to the report, the DPRK wishes to discuss “the possible problems that will arise from sending our athletes and cheerleading squads on the 15th of July either on the North Korean or South Korean side of Panmunjom”.
