News AFP to open bureau in Pyongyang by ‘end of the year’According to a report in Le Point, AFP hopes to have its Pyongyang offices open by the end of the year
Agence-France Press (AFP) is to open a permanent news bureau in Pyongyang, an article published in the French weekly Le Point has claimed. Although AFP have yet to make an official comment about the development, Le Point explained that AFP will set up a bureau in Pyongyang by the end of the year. “Nothing has yet been made official, but the deal is done” Le Point said. Le Point said AFP would now beat Reuters to become the fifth foreign news agency to have a full presence in Pyongyang, alongside Kyodo, Associated Press (AP), RIA Novosti and Xinhua.
