Experiencing the Rason Special Economic Zone for the first time

Founder of Choson Exchange describes his first visit to the Rason Special Economic Zone

Sino-NK recently released the second issue of its flagship digital periodical, the Tumen Triangle Documentation Project. Edited by Jim Hoare and Christopher Green, Tumen Triangle is authored by a broad network of experienced scholars, practitioners, activists and journalists from around the world, including both North and South Korea.

Just like Sino-NK, Tumen Triangle has one foot in both the academic and media worlds, and provides accurate, timely, and in-depth analysis of issues that specifically pertain to the Tumen Triangle region. The first issue featured essays and articles by, among others, Choson Exchange's Andray Abrahamian, New Focus founder Jang Jin-sung, and the Executive Director of the Committee for Human Rights in North Korea, Greg Scarlatoiu. Building on this debut success, the second incorporated essays, articles, and a great many photos by experts including former British ambassadors Jim Hoare and Warwick Morris, Dr. Benjamin Habib, UK-based North Korean defector activists Kim Joo-il, as well as the following essay by Choson Exchange founder Geoffrey K. See.
