The Panama Canal Authority has announced that representatives of the North Korean vessel Chong Chon Gang have paid a total fine of $693,333.10 and that the ship is now free to leave Panamanian waters.
“They just paid the fine in cash, so the ship is free to set sail,” canal administrator Jorge Quijano said before adding that the vessel would be heading back to Cuba, not North Korea
