Pro-DPRK Koreans in Japan protest Asahi Shimbun coverage

Groups alleges inaccuracy in report on post-Jang Song Thaek purges

A delegation of the pro-Pyongyang federation of Korean residents in Japan visited the Tokyo headquarters of Japanese daily newspaper Asahi Shimbun on Monday to lodge a complaint against recent coverage about North Korea.

The complaint was a response to a January 26 report by Asahi Shimbun which alleged that a wide-ranging execution of Jang Song Thaek’s aides is being continued in North Korea and that society is becoming more unstable following a Kim Jong Un orchestrated crackdown on dissent.
