The Republic of Korea’s Ministry of National Defense announced on December 5 that North Korea’s removal of Jang Song Thaek should be double-checked, South Korean news agency News1 reported.

Since the defense ministry announcement lacked the certainty of  Tuesday’s National Intelligence Service (NIS) assessment, some in South Korea have raised concerns over miscommunication among government organizations.

“Accuracy is the most important thing when it comes to information on North Korea. It’s terrible to see miscommunication among the government organizations over Jang Song Theak’s removal from power,” Kim Yeong-geun, vice spokesman of the opposition Democratic Party, said Thursday in an official party statement
