The South Korean government will encourage its companies to use the Trans-Korea railway when it is completed, the ROK and Russia agreed on Wednesday.

In a statement released to the press at Wednesday’s meeting between Presidents Park Geun-hye and Vladimir Putin, the two countries agreed to promote the use of the railway by the two countries’ companies.

“The parties have reached an agreement to promote unimpeded fulfillment by the two countries’ companies of cooperation programs to use the said railway and port infrastructure,” the joint statement says.

The railway will run through the North Korea, from Russia to South Korea,
