KAESONG – A large public swimming bathing area in Kaesong, believed to have been closed for about 15 years, has recently reopened for public usage.

The area consists of multiple pools designed for swimmers of different abilities.

Photos taken by Simon Cockerell of Koryo Tours in August showed the pools to be enjoyed particularly by children, following years of non-use.

“It’s been something that so many tourists have driven past for so many years that to suddenly see it filled with water and filled with people was like seeing a mirage at first,” Cockerell told NK News by email.

“After
