Richardson calls for “creative” engagement with North Korea

Former negotiator calls for ASEAN, other nations to get involved

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Former governor and diplomat Bill Richardson has called for a new approach involving cultural and political engagement with Pyongyang, and even had some praise for Dennis Rodman’s visit to the North.

Richardson spoke at the Asia Society in New York, appearing with former CIA officer and U.S. Ambassador to South Korea Donald Gregg on July 11 to discuss means of improving U.S.-North Korea relations.
