Korea’s National Institute for Unification Education is organizing a series of weekly lectures related to unification until June. This week's lecture will focus on how presidential leadership impacts the goal of reunification of the two Koreas. The lecture will be given by Baek Tae-hyon from the Institute for National Security Strategy (INSS).

Join the CSIS Korea Chair for a discussion on the Trump administration’s policy on North Korea and its future direction. The conversation will be moderated by Dr. Victor Cha and will feature Mr. Sydney Seiler, Senior Adviser (non-resident) with Korea Chair at CSIS, and former national intelligence officer for North Korea at the National Intelligence Council from 2020 to 2023. In this talk, the experts will discuss the Trump administration’s policy toward North Korea, the possibility of a second Trump–Kim summit, its future direction in relation to the United States and South Korea, and more.

The Ministry of Unification is hosting a four-day event at Seoul Forest aimed at spreading awareness about North Korean human rights. The event will feature multiple performances by musicians, including defectors, and other groups. The aim of the event is to encourage public discussion about the human rights situation in North Korea, to bring awareness to the issue of South Koreans currently being detained in the DPRK, and to change the image of North Korean human rights issues from a political one to a topic more accessible to the average person. The Minister of Unification will be attending the opening ceremony of the event on Friday.
