NKDB North Korean Human Rights Exhibition Room Blog Online Supporters Recruitment
NKDB is recruiting 10 adults aged 20 or older who are interested in North Korean human rights issues for the North Korean Human Rights Exhibition Room blog online supporters program. Applications are accepted until midnight on Sunday, August 23, 2026, and selected participants will be contacted individually before 5:00 PM on Tuesday, August 25. Participants will carry out 10 promotional missions through personal Naver blogs during the activity period. The orientation and completion ceremony will be held on site, while online blog posting missions will be conducted during the activity period. Benefits include a certificate of completion, recognition of volunteer hours through the 1365 portal, and opportunities to form a personal network.

41st Peace Studies Forum: Border of Conflict, Shared Ecology: Analysis of Historical Land Use Change and Ecological and Environmental Risks in the DMZ Region
The Institute for Peace and Unification Studies at Seoul National University will hold the 41st Peace Studies Forum under the theme of Border and Peace. Professor Kim Oh-seok of the Department of Geography and Geography Education at Korea University will present on Border of Conflict, Shared Ecology: Analysis of Historical Land Use Change and Ecological and Environmental Risks in the DMZ Region. The forum will be held online via Zoom, with advance registration required. Zoom links will be sent to registered participants by email.

North Korea-Russia, Vladivostok-Rason City connecting bus operation to start at end of year
Russia said it plans to start a bus service connecting Primorsky Krai and North Korea by the end of this year. A Moscow Foreign Ministry official said the two countries are preparing to open a new automobile bridge over the Tumen River. Russian travel company Vostok Intour said it will operate a regular bus route connecting Vladivostok and the Rason Special Economic Zone. The company was selected in May as the operator of the route. North Korean General Secretary Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to build the Tumen River automobile bridge at their 2024 Pyongyang summit.
